Coaching Opportunities

Thank you for considering being a coach this season. To be considered a coach you will need to:

1) Select "Yes" interested in coaching when you register your child
2) Contact your Player Agent for your division to begin Coach Registration Process and Background Check (Cost is $30). Please confirm dates with Player Agent. 
3) Complete Online Coach Registration 
4) Attend BOTH evaluation days 
5) Attend Coach's Clinic 
6) Attend Draft week 
7) Begin Practice

Coach Selection Process

  1. Indicate on your registration process that you are interested in coaching by selecting the box "YES" to coach,
  2. The RSM NJB Board of Directors will review all coach requests and determine who will be coaching for each division,
  3. The Player Agent for your division will reach out to you no later than 1 week prior to evaluations to confirm your position as coach,
  4. Once confirmed, you will need to attend the Coach's Meeting and register on the NJB HQ website: www.njbl.org for a background check.
  5. Please reach out to the player agent for your division with any questions.

Coaches Responsibilities

  • Attend evaluation days .
  • Attend mandatory coaches meeting
  • Attend a mandatory coaches clinic
  • Register as a coach at www.njbl.org to process a background check
  • Communicate effectively with parents through telephone or email regarding practices, games and other aspects of the program
  • Develop and maintain a positive rapport with the parents of your player 
  • Attend all coaches' meetings
  • Organize, conduct, and supervise all practices and games
  • Secure a team parent
  • Assist in the prevention and care in injuries
  • Emphasize the proper ideals of sportsmanship and fair play
  • Show cordial courtesy to visiting teams and game officials
  • Remember that an athletic contest is just a game, not a matter of life and death
  • Use positive language and refrain from using any profanity or derogatory terms
  • Remember they are just kids, let them have fun!
